When God answers, “Yes!” to one of our petitions, thankfulness is an easy and joyful result. But when He says, “No,” or “Not now,” we aren’t as quick to praise. In fact, frustration can surface easily at those moments.
In this message, Dr. Stanley lists some of our common yet ineffective responses to the very human feeling of frustration. He then shares some more beneficial reactions using examples from the life of Paul. The apostle found himself imprisoned by circumstances beyond his control more than once. Yet this didn't diminish the sense of freedom in his spirit.
Frustrations are part of life, and the Bible doesn’t promise a quick or easy way to eliminate them. There is no key to getting our way in every circumstance. But there are biblical principles that teach us how to think about unmet goals and unfulfilled desires. And they will lead us to incredible contentment and joy in God’s presence, if we will let them.
