The Lord is not vague. When He speaks to us, He always has something very specific to share, and He doesn’t hesitate or waver in His communication. He has a goal in mind.

God speaks to us through His Word, the Holy Spirit, our circumstances, and other people. Using Galatians 1:11-17, Dr. Stanley explains that the Lord reaches out to us so we will:

- Comprehend the truth.
- Be conformed by the truth.
- Communicate the truth.

Our heavenly Father has boundless wisdom and truth to share with us, and His well of life will never run dry. We can either listen to Him passively—without intending to change—or we can listen aggressively, ready to apply truth to our lives and be conformed by it. We will want to share it with others only if we truly understand the truth and are transformed by it.
