Influence By Example

Albert Schweitzer once said, “Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.” These wise words have never been truer than between a parent and child.

In this message, Dr. Stanley challenges fathers to examine their lives and vocations to see what characteristics they exhibit at home and at work. He uses Zebedee, a fisherman and the father of James and John, as an example of a dad who was most likely:

- A man of faith
- Discerning
- Industrious
- Disciplined
- Courageous
- Decisive
- Patient
- Cooperative
- Persistent
- Respectful of authority

Any child would benefit from a father who exemplified these qualities. Are these traits your kids see in you? Accept Dr. Stanley’s challenge to examine your life, then ask your heavenly Father to help you make these characteristics part of who you are—and who your children know you to be.
