Are you trusting in Jesus or your good works? Dr. Stanley continues his examination of Paul’s letter to the Galatians in “The Cross: Where Liberty Begins—Part 2,” as he guides us through Galatians 6:14.
Paul was concerned the Galatians were being seduced by false teachers who wanted them to pull away from their faith in Christ and return to the law of Moses and doing good works. In this scripture, he tells the legalists not to boast about any works of the flesh, but rather how Christ paid the penalty for their sins on the cross. Paul said, “May it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Galatians 6:14).
Dr. Stanley reminds us that, much like the Galatians, we are not immune to being diverted by false teachers. Our strength lies in our hope in the cross—not in our righteousness and achievements.
