The Discipline Of Difficulty

Nobody likes trouble. Ease and comfort look appealing to most people, and even as believers we can be lulled into a desire to coast in our spiritual lives. But that would be a big mistake. One of the processes God uses to grow us in holiness is difficulty, and though we’d like to avoid it, our trials can help us truly soar in Him. We just need to persevere—and not run away.

In this message, Dr. Charles Stanley looks at a challenging but potentially very rewarding part of Christian life. Be inspired to meet the trials God sends your way with willingness, patience, and determination. Listen as he explains the value of difficulty in our lives, how God uses it to refine us, and what our role should be.

Struggles and problems can be deeply unsettling. But if you’ll let God work in your heart, no matter how painful the process, you’ll emerge richer in holiness and more like Christ—a joyful and blessed outcome.
