All of us like to be uplifted, blessed, admired, loved, cared for. We want to get ahead in life, whatever that may look like. We want to do our best, to achieve and to accomplish. We want to get wherever God wants us to be in life. And we are quick to claim every promise of His that seems to direct us on how to get there.

In this message, Dr. Stanley examines some of God’s promises in relation to humility. He is always faithful to fulfill His promises. But some promises have conditions, and we have responsibilities to fulfill. Some of these are outlined in Chapter 5 of First Peter, where we learn that our humble efforts can be a doorway to grace, freedom from anxiety, and even acclaim. As we see how to cast our concerns on our heavenly Father, and recognize the sufficiency of His power and care, we can walk in daily peace and contentment.

When we become people characterized by a spirit of humility, yielded to God in every aspect of our lives, we will be positioned to receive all that He desires for us, for His glory, and our joy.
